NeuroClin Glasgow
Founded in 1999, we are an independent research organisation, engaged in national and international research studies that seek to find better treatments for those with Memory Impairment, Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia.
In 2020, Glasgow Memory Clinic became a NeuroClin centre, extending our research focus to include Parkinson’s disease, Depression and other neurological conditions.
The clinic officially became NeuroClin Glasgow in November 2023.
Our dedicated state-of-art research facility is located within Excel House, Eurocentral – conveniently located for those travelling from the central belt of Scotland. Our staff are all experienced healthcare professionals who have now dedicated their time to research.
Access to new treatments
We have a range of current studies running at the clinic suitable for those with varying degrees of Memory Impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, Parkinson’s disease and Depression.
Clinical studies are the only way to test new potential treatments for neurological diseases and our clinic is at the forefront of this research.
Participation in studies is voluntary and all medical care, attention and treatment is provided completely free of charge.
Travel expenses are reimbursed and lunch is provided for those visiting the clinic to participate in a study.
Our Research
We are engaged in National and International randomised controlled studies that aim to find better treatments for Memory Impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia and Parkinson’s with expanding areas of research in neurology.
Glasgow Memory Clinic founded in 1999 now has a board of directors and has been supported by Private equity investment from the Foresight Group and Fullbrook Thorpe Investments since 2020.
While still retaining the name Glasgow Memory Clinic the clinic became the first Neuroclin centre in 2022. Neuroclin reflects the expanded scope of research interest in neurology

The research team have been involved in research work on all of the currently licensed treatments for Alzheimer’s disease: Aricept (donepezil), Exelon (rivastigmine), Reminyl (galantamine) Ebixa (memantine) and (Aduhelm (aducanumab) now licensed in the USA)
Alzheimer’s vaccines. The centre has very extensive experience in this area of research and entered the first subject in Scotland in an Alzheimer’s Vaccine study in 2007. Alzheimer vaccine work is ongoing at the clinic with several studies running and recruiting.
Patients from all over Scotland attend the clinic to participate in a range of research studies.
Participation in studies is voluntary. All medical care, attention and treatment is provided completely free of charge. Travel expenses are reimbursed for study participants.
In 2020 we relocated from the West of Scotland Science Park to a beautiful new dedicated facility at Excel House, Eurocentral and our staff are all experienced healthcare professionals who have now dedicated their time to research.

Jeff Thomis
Chairman
Highly experienced global pharma executive Jeff Thomis, brings decades of experience in drug discovery, clinical development and commercialisation. Jeff played a major role in the development and registration of a number of novel drugs at Bristol-Myers Squibb and was President of Global Clinical Development Services at Quintiles. He has been the Chair of several pharma service companies and is currently on the Board of NASDAQ listed ThermoGenesis.

Allan is currently an Executive Director at NeuroClin. He has worked with the clinic since 2021 in both an advisory and operational capacity.
Allan has over 25+ years’ experience in finance, strategy, investment and operational roles in both the public and private markets across healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, public sector, and energy & utilities.
Dr Fraser Inglis
Founder & Director of Research
Founder and Consultant level, experienced Research Physician and Director of Research at NeuroClin Glasgow, formerly The Glasgow Memory Clinic.
30 years of clinical research experience. Principal investigator for over 100 randomised controlled trials. Significant experience of patient care and randomising subjects into clinical trials.
Trained in medicine at University of Dundee, Scotland. Extensive experience in internal medicine and Geriatric medicine. Lecturer in Aging and Health, Department of Medicine, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. Jointly ran Dundee Memory Clinic, Scotland’s first memory clinic service. Former NHS Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine. Pioneered Alzheimer vaccine trials. First subject in Scotland entered in an Alzheimer’s vaccine study in 2007. Lectured locally, nationally and internationally. Advisory role to pharma sponsors. Lead role in business development and executive functions of the business. Now working more corporately with business board directors and investors to further develop and expand of the clinic research model.
Current areas of research activity include Study design, Alzheimer’s Vaccines, Preclinical Alzheimer’s, Prodromal Alzheimer’s disease, Mild cognitive impairment, Biomarkers, Parkinson’s, Depression, Lumbar Puncture, MRI and PET scanning.

Alison Cranmer
Operations Director
Alison Cranmer is a highly experienced business professional with over 20 years of commercial success in a variety of industries. Joining the clinic in 2011, she has since played an instrumental role in the clinic’s growth and development.
A facilitator at heart, Alison firmly believes that success comes from the strength of effective individuals, teams and teamwork. She champions business improvement initiatives to improve processes, drive efficiency and help deliver the overall strategic objectives. Her experience includes account management and business development strategies leading to operational improvement and enhanced sales performance.
Creative, enthusiastic and with a strong sense of humour, Alison is a much-valued member of the NeuroClin Glasgow team. She is passionate about her work and enjoys creating an environment where people can flourish and achieve their best.
Dr Jennifer Lynch
Medical Director
Formerly an experienced GP Partner, Jennifer Lynch has over 20 years’ experience in Alzheimer’s research, leading over 100 clinical trials with NeuroClin Glasgow.
Responsible for patient safety and well-being during the trials, Jennifer leads the clinical team of doctors, nurses, psychologists and pharmacists at the clinic.
Jennifer is passionate about clinical research, with the goal of developing effective new medicines to improve the health of generations to come.

Michelle is an experienced finance leader, with a wealth of experience across multiple sectors.
Julia MacDonald
HR Manager
Commercially focused senior HR professional with over 20 years’ experience of working within small and medium sized business to deliver human resource support platforms to enable businesses to focus on strategic development and financial success.
Working in the areas of infrastructure, manpower planning, recruitment, contract and policy, performance management, organisational change, learning and development, compensation and benefits and dispute resolution.

How We Can Help
We offer free memory screening for those aged over 50 who are concerned about a decline
in memory function and who are interested in participating in a research study.
If you are worried that your memory is worse we can provide memory screening.
Many people screened are normal and find this beneficial. If you do have memory impairment and we have a research study that might be suitable for you we will provide you with suitable information.
It can be difficult to be objective about your own memory. Some people think they have a poor memory but testing shows it to be normal, this can be reassuring.
Some people are worried their memory is getting worse and testing may confirm there is memory impairment. Identifying memory impairment early allows the potential for early intervention. Alzheimer’s disease can now be diagnosed much earlier in the Prodromal phase than in the past and this is a very positive development in clinical research.
The Inspiration of Albert Enz
We extend our most sincere thanks to Albert Enz who very kindly and enthusiastically took up the challenge to create seven amazing new paintings for the reception area of NeuroClin Glasgow.
The works displayed in this brochure began with seven words and no brief other than the canvas sizes. The words are Memories, Sentiment, Dreams, Peace, Thoughts, Compassion and Inspiration. Each word forms the title of a painting and is accompanied by the original words and thoughts of the artist.
Alzheimer and Fleming – Observation in Time
It is probably unlikely that German doctor Alois Alzheimer, who was born in Bavaria on the 14th June 1864, would have imagined when he reported a sole case of a subject suffering from dementia in 1906 that he was witness to a sea of change in medicine. The condition he described, subsequently called Alzheimer’s disease, would become the major cause of dementia globally in the 20th and 21st centuries. He stood at a point in history when the main cause of dementia, syphilis, was soon to be eradicated by another major discovery to be made by Scottish doctor Alexander Fleming, born in Ayrshire on the 6th August 1881.
