Clinical Research Nurse – Part Time

Job description:

NeuroClin is expanding and we are excited to launch our brand new clinic In Warrington. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Research Nurse to support the set-up and launch of our new clinic in Warrington. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our senior leadership team, helping to establish processes and systems on site, before moving into the delivery of high-quality nursing and research services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up our new facility and work with the senior team to open our new clinic and launch our services
  • Perform a range of clinical tasks including vital signs assessment, ECGs, venepuncture, cannulation, and IV infusions.
  • Process, package, and prepare biological samples (blood/urine), including dry ice preparation, in line with study protocols.
  • Conduct study safety calls and assist consultants with procedures such as lumbar punctures.
  • Dispense, administer, and accurately document clinical trial medications according to protocols.
  • Ensure medications and equipment are appropriately checked, stored, calibrated, and disposed of.
  • Provide support to study monitors and auditors.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the clinic, supporting with SOPs, documentation, and housekeeping standards.
  • Take an active role in developing clinic processes, assisting in start-up operations, and supporting colleagues across different functions where required.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and adaptable nurse who want to be part of our new and exciting launch, who also has high standards in patient care and research delivery.

Essential requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant Life Sciences field / Nursing registration.
  • Competent in ECGs, venepuncture, cannulation, IV administration, and injections.
  • Strong IT skills, with experience using systems such as Office 365 and clinical databases.
  • Proven ability to work to high standards within deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (in person, telephone, and video).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to NeuroClin Glasgow for training/ad-hoc requirements (with prior notice and travel reimbursements provided).
  • Leadership experience and ability to support a new clinic through its early stages.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Life Sciences or Clinical Research.
  • Previous experience in a clinical trials environment.
  • Interest in contributing to clinical trial delivery and compliance with GCP.

This pivotal role supports our patient-facing teams by ensuring full compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards through high-quality administrative, regulatory, and data management support.

What you’ll do:

We are expanding, and we are excited to launch our brand-new clinic in Warrington. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Trial Rater to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in setting up a new site, working alongside senior leadership to implement processes and systems, before moving into a clinical trial rating role as part of our dedicated team.

As a Clinical Trial Rater, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical research at our Warrington site. You will contribute to both the clinical and operational aspects of trials, ensuring compliance with protocols, maintaining the highest standards of patient care, and supporting the successful launch of the new clinic.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting participant assessments in line with study protocols and training.
  • Processing and packaging biological samples (blood/urine) including dry ice preparation.
  • Making appointments, reminder calls and managing subject bookings.
  • Accurately documenting clinical trial procedures in accordance with study protocols.
  • Checking medications to ensure they are appropriate to the patient and are unexpired.
  • Isolation and appropriate disposal / return of used medications and instruments in accordance with study protocols.
  • Providing assistance as required to monitors and other auditors on site.
  • Contribute to SOP development, review, and compliance.
  • Maintain cleanliness, equipment calibration, and housekeeping standards.

About You
