Do you have a loved one with agitation associated with Alzheimer’s dementia?
Is their agitation becoming overwhelming?
We’re continuing with our mission to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and have now launched a new Alzheimer’s disease research study – ASPECT™
What is the ASPECT™ Study?
The purpose of the ASPECT ™ clinical research study is to investigate the safety and effectiveness of a potential treatment, AVP-78G, for agitation associated with Alzheimer’s disease, when compared to a placebo.
What do we mean when we say agitation?
Some examples of agitated behaviours are as follows:
- Restlessness
- Pacing / aimless wandering
- Screaming
- Kicking
- Shouting
- Hitting others or self
- Throwing objects
- Pushing people
- Hurting self or others
- Constant unwarranted requests for attention or help
- Tearing things or destroying property
Who can participate?
To participate in this ground-breaking research study, they must fit the following criteria:
- Are between the ages of 50 and 90 (inclusive)
- Have a diagnosis of probable Alzheimer’s dementia
- Have moderate-to-severe agitation that interferes with their daily life
- Have a reliable caregiver who spends a minimum of 2 hours per day, 4 days per week with them and is willing and able to comply with all study procedures
Please note, this is not a complete list of study requirements, the study doctor will review all requirements with potential participants and their carers.
If you think a loved one may be interested and fits the criteria, please take the 3 min pre-screening questionnaire here
Why participate?
Apply to take part and your loved one could gain access to cutting edge treatments that are not available outside a trial setting and contribute to the medical research surrounding this complex disease.
